COLLEY'S POOL & SPA ADDITION

Colley’s Pool & Spa completed a 4,000 square foot addition to their existing showroom located on West 26th street in Erie, PA.  The framing consists of 24” k-series roof joists spanning 40’ supported on a masonry wall and steel framing.  The offset cold formed stud facade (both vertically and horizontally) challenged the structural framing support integration.  The metal studs cantilevered above the roof to create a high store front.  Store front parapets generate high wind loads from windward and leeward pressures creating structural design challenges.  The building was modeled and rendered in Revit which was seamlessly used to coordinate with the architectural model and generate structural construction drawings.
